Stepping out from behind the business, focusing on her own relationships gained her the insight and awareness to see it all begins with looking in that mirror right in front of you. She now coaches how to put your oxygen mask on yourself first then assist others. The best coaches are the ones that have experienced huge losses in their lives and find the path to embrace what feels impossible. It’s all about awareness and having the vision to see the possibilities.

Jayne Morehouse has dedicated her entire career to helping salon and spa professionals build their businesses through effective and impactful communications strategies. Her love affair with professional beauty began when she joined American Salon magazine and was then promoted to editor in chief. Recognizing how important beauty professionals are to helping people look and feel their best, her mission became to help them succeed. Today, she is the president of Jayne & Company Media Group, a full-service creative content development agency for beauty and lifestyle companies, brands, salons, spas and beauty professionals. She is also the author of the book Public Relations for the Salon (Milady) and as CEO of Beauty Industry Media Group LLC publishes the monthly newsletter Beauty Industry Report for senior executives in the professional beauty business.
Spa & Wellness Director at Walden
In addition to directing Spa Walden, Jenessee qualifications include: Yoga Teacher Trainer, Author, Artist and Energetic Field – Chakra Intuitive. A native Californian, her spa career didn’t truly begin until she moved to the East Coast where she facilitated the opening of a private spa property set aside Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island. This early management opportunity fast-tracked her career in the spa industry which allowed her the privilege of traveling the world as a 23-year old lead educator for destination spa properties. After years of travel and a few more resume bullet points, Jenessee landed back in California when a synchronistic meeting with the proprietor of Walden came about. Surrendering to her adventurous side, she moved to the great state of Ohio in 2006. Jenessee has been running Spa & Wellness Walden ever since.

Who is Julie Pankey?
Julie Pankey launched the SpaHive idea in mid-2015 when she realized that the spa and salon industry lacked a mastermind forum where attendees can collaborate openly and freely to help move their businesses to the next level of success. Julie decided it was time to change that, and so the SpaHive was born.
A few words from Julie:
I am Julie Pankey, founder of JMPankey Partners. I started my business seven years ago because I wanted to give back to the industry that has provided me so much. The desire to coach, support, and encourage spa owners and managers was the natural progression of my spa career. Over the past 20 years I have had the pleasure to learn and work with many top industry professionals, which inspired me to begin my consulting business. Spa is my passion and it flows through all my work projects.
My career in the spa industry began in 1993. I’ve worked in many spa roles in 5-star spas and resorts as: Executive Spa Director, Manager, and Technician. Additionally, I am a Certified Master Nail Technician, Reiki Practitioner and Certified Spa Supervisor. From these opportunities I have gleaned best practices and perfected systems to impact revenues and increase business.
Some career accomplishments and milestones that I’m especially proud of:
- Managed more than 100 staff at the Spa at Norwich Inn
- Grew the Spa at the Cliff House Resort’s 25,000 ft. facility to 7 figures within its first 2 years
- Doubled the spa retail revenue at the Four Seasons Resort, Great Exuma in twelve months
- Increased bottom line profit at the Wentworth by the Sea Resort and Spa by 15%
- Represented brands such as Mary Cohr, OSEA Malibu , Guinot, Christopher Drummond Beauty and TNG
- Served as Co-Chairman of the ISPA’s Membership/Implementation Committee for five years
- Consulted with numerous spa and salons to build a more successful and profitable business
